Avril Lavigne

Who doesn’t know Avril Lavigne? Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must have at least heard about the Avril Lavigne, the punk rock princess. Born on September 27, 1984, at Belleville, Ontario, Canada, this Canadian singer-songwriter has achieved great fame and success since she was young. Everybody knows Lavigne for her grungy pop rock music, her singing ability evident since she was two. The singer grew up in Nappanee, Ontario singing at church and local events.
Her early singing experiences include singing country songs and Christian tunes. Her parents were careful in her choice of music being strict when it comes to their Christian faith.  Lavigne’s singing ability and confidence caught her first manager’s attention when she was just 14 years old.  In the same year, Lavigne performed a duet before a 20 000 audience with Canadian country icon Shania Twain.
Her resume also includes contributing vocals on some albums of Stephen Medd, local folk singer. Her career finally took off when she quit school and moved with her brother to New York.  At 16, she was able to sing a two-album contract of about $1.25 million worth. Then in 2002, she first released her award-winning debut album, Let Go. Her first album became six times platinum and features popular hits such as “Complicated”, “I’m With You”, “Sk8er Boi” and “Losing Grip”.
From then on, Lavigne’s music career continued to rise with the release of albums Under My Skin (2004), The Best Damn Thing (2007), and Goodbye Lullaby (2011). She also released a self-titled album Avril Lavigne in 2013. The following year, Lavigne was diagnosed to have a severe case of Lyme disease, which resulted in her taking hiatus to recuperate.
This year, Avril Lavigne hinted some details about the release of her sixth album. According to Lavigne, her new album is going to be intimate, personal, raw, dramatic and simply unexpected.  Fans can expect that this new album will be emotional as she said this album is a bit going back to the kind of music she used to sing when she was young.
