Martin Scorsese

Martin Scorsese is a film Director, Producer, and Actor. He has produced many award-winning films of all times and most of these films are considered as the most memorable films in the cinema history. Some of his iconic films include “The Departed” and the “Taxi Driver”.
Martin Scorsese, a local of New York City, was born on November 17, 1942. He is well-known for his filmmaking style and he is often regarded as one of the most significant directors in the history of cinema. Martin’s passion for the movie industry has been one of the secrets to his success. His passion started at a very young age. At the age of 8, he started to imagine himself as a successful filmmaker.
In the year 1968, Martin Scorsese accomplished his very first film, “Who’s Knocking at My Door?” During the release of his movie, “Taxi Driver”, he proved to everyone that film is not a fluke. Some of his other films are Goodfellas, Hugo, Raging Bull and The Departed.
Film Success
After he finished his MFA where he specializes in film directing in the year 1966, Martin Scorsese started to work as a film instructor at a university. During the year 1968, he completed his very first film. While spending most of his time on his first film, Martin met Harvey Keitel which opened doors for him on his future projects. He also met Thelma Schoonmaker whom he worked for almost 40 years.
During the year 1973, he directed the film “Mean Streets” which is widely loved by many viewers. Directing this film also open an opportunity for him to meet Robert De Niro – one of the most admired filmmakers in Hollywood. Martin Scorsese and De Niro collaborated and have created a film in the year 1980, the “Raging Bull”. But their movie was not considered as one of the best movies of all time.
Living Legend
Martin Scorsese is a living legend. According to him, his ultimate dream is to write music on his own. However, fate doesn’t want him to be a rock star, so he ended up as a filmmaker. He continues to direct documentaries like “The Blues”, “No Direction Home” and the “Shine a Light”.
Some of his recent achievement was, “Hugo”. Although the film was not a box office hit, the movie garnered 11 Nominations on Academy Awards and he was awarded as the Best Director given by the Golden Globe. During the year 2016, he reunited with De Niro on their Netflix project, “The Irishman”. Martin Scorsese is indeed an award-winning filmmaker and a living legend.
