We all have those people who we connect with on a higher level.  As you know, Wayne Dyer is my spiritual mentor who helps me stay in that higher level of consciousness.  His messages resonate with me and I am so grateful that he is in my life.
With this said, I had a clear message that I was supposed to watch his DVD on the Power of Intention.  I’ve watched it from time to time since I received it about a year and half ago.  This Divine message was clear:  Watch it daily!  So for the past two weeks I have watched it during my morning exercise routine.  You know how we have to listen to something over and over, and over some more before we begin to fully appreciate the message.
What has happened to me as a result of this Dyer Marathon?
I thought I was already a very calm person, but now I am even more at peace.  I’m learning to manifest love for myself and connect to God in an even greater way that I could ever imagine.  Each day, each moment I get to practice staying connected.  What an incredible gift!
Here’s a message from the DVD I would like to share with you.  When you squeeze an orange, what comes out?  Orange juice, of course.  It has nothing to do with the person who is squeezing the orange that is producing the orange juice.  This is what is already inside.  Right?
Likewise when someone squeezes us by saying something negative and out of us comes a negative emotion such as hatred, then that’s what is inside of us.  It isn’t the person who is doing the squeezing that is producing the negative emotion; it is what is already inside of us.  Right?  Great message, isn’t it?
What do you have inside?
When you stay connected to God, you stay connected to the Divinity that is within you.  Love yourself first and then love will ooze out of you.  Wayne Dyer’s message is clear in this regard as well.  You can’t give away what you don’t already have for yourself.
Watch what comes out of you.  If you have negative stuff oozing from you, then stop.  Be still. Grab something that will clean off that connection to God.  What are some of those powerful cleansers?  Meditation, EFT, affirmations, gratitude, deep breathing, spiritual books, Wayne Dyer’s DVD, taking a walk.
Love yourself and watch the pounds disappear because you will attract everything that will ooze being healthy.  All because you loved yourself first.
Remember:  You are enough!  You do deserve!  You are God’s gift to the world!
Love and hugs,
Tami

What does it mean to vibrate at a higher level of consciousness?
Energy is everywhere.  There is no where it is not.  Everything has energy.  It’s either  lower vibration or higher vibration, and we get to make a conscious choice which one we will choose.  When we make our choice, then we’ve decided what we intend to attract.  It is our decision, no one else’s.  No one can make you choose either one.  It’s your responsibility.
What does lower vibration look like?  All negative energy is lower vibration: hatred, fear, resistance, worry, being offended, frustration, doubt…things that make you feel anxious.  Every thought that expresses:  “I can’t do it. I don’t deserve. I’m not enough” are all lower energies.
What does higher vibration look like?  All positive energy is high vibration:  love, gratitude, fun, deep breathing, exercise, music that feeds our soul, shaking your hiney as you dance, nature…things that make you feel great.  Every thought that expresses: “I can do it.  I do deserve. I am enough” are all high energies.
I can remember having a conversation with my daughter having a challenge with another person.  She said, “He makes me so mad.”  We then had a lengthy discussion about this statement.
How can anyone make you mad?  It’s not possible.  The decision was made to connect to lower vibration.  You have to own the responsibility of your choice.
It’s beautiful to think in these terms.  Each moment we make a decision:  Am I going to choose to be in harmony with God, which is higher vibration…or not.  You take ownership each and every moment.  You have the power to choose.
Which energy do you think brings you closer to your weight loss goals?
Right now, do something that brings you harmony.  This will take 1 minute or less.  Let’s have some fun.  Turn on some music and get up and boogey.  That’s right, bring up that vibration of energy.  Yes, you’re feeling it now.  Even if you’re at work, let loose.  You will be the envy of everyone.
Remember, it doesn’t matter what people think.  What only matters is this.  Am I feeling great?  If the answer is yes, then you have made your choice of the two energy levels.  Let others make their choice.  If they choose to be offended by what you do, you don’t have to do anything with their decision.  Bless them and let it go.  The Universe will take care of them.  It’s that simple.
All you are responsible for is your own power, your choices.  It’s all about you.  It’s that simple.
Just ask yourself this question:  If I intend to lose weight, what do I need to do each day to bring me in vibrational harmony with that decision?
Remember all the tools you have available:  Rapid Eye Therapy, Emotional Freedom Techniques, meditation, deep breathing, gratitude, exercise, good nutrition, cleansing and supplementation products from Isagenix, laughing, journaling, affirmations, prayer.
You are your ideal weight and attracting everything that is positive.
I’m proud of you!
Love and hugs,
Tami

Close Kept Secrets to Weight Loss Lesson #39
I trust that you are having amazing success, and I’m very proud of your commitment.
What does success mean?
A wonderful friend, who is actually part of my weight loss program, shared that success is simple steps taken towards your goal.  So often though, we are very hard on ourselves because we haven’t gotten to the top of the mountain.
How do we get to the top?  One step at a time.
We must reward ourselves periodically and be grateful that we are taking those steps….even when we believe we are off track.  Self-sabotage, which is only our EGO, can be very destructive.  It says “See, you were off track.  I knew you couldn’t do it.  Who do you think you are.  You’re never going to achieve success.”
Remember, EGO stands for Edging God Out.  With this said, it reminds us that we need to check our connection to God, clean it off and plug it back in.
Recently, I encountered my own EGO when I believed I was off track in my business.  Thus, I did some work on forgiving myself.  This was very soothing to my soul.  What emerged from that was a refocus on my purpose, my commitment to God.  Seek forgiveness for your perceived imperfections.
We are always right where we need to be, and what is so incredible is that God is right here all the time loving us no matter what.  It’s when we believe that we are separate from God that the EGO is allowed to take over.
Wayne Dyer says that there is no such thing as an egoectomy, but right now let’s do something that will give us the same results without the surgery.  We want to ensure our connection to God is clear, and the only way to do this is to get rid of the EGO.
Here we go:
_______________________(fill in your name), I forgive you for ___________________.
Repeat this for all the things in which you need to forgive yourself.
Then take your right hand and make a fist.  Put it over your heart and in a clockwise circular motion, repeat I love you, I love you, I love you.  Do this 10 times.
The EGO is removed and surgery is a success!  Didn’t that feel great?
You are committed to your weight loss/healthy lifestyle goals.  Periodically check your connection to God and ensure that it’s glowing.
I’m proud of you.  Keep up the good work and be easy on yourself.
Love and hugs,
Tami

Let’s have some fun!  Right now, put on some butt-movin’ music.  Get up and dance and move your body.  Breathe in life and shout, “I am awesome!  I am meant for greatness!  I am sooooooooooooo sexy!”
I went dancing recently and realized that I need to do this more often.  I get to be creative and let go…..when I’m dancing individually.  It’s a different story when I partner dance.
Currently, I am with a partner who likes to partner dance and do west coast swing and salsa.  He has taken lessons and has been dancing for several years.  As for me,  I took cha cha lessons years ago with my ex-husband and it wasn’t the best experience so partner dancing reveals a lot of things for me, which involves more than just dancing.
Picture me out on the dance floor being led around all over the place, but still trying to lead when I have no idea what I am doing.  My partner informs me that I only have to follow and his responsibility is to make me look good.  Follow!  What does that mean?  I tell him that I only want to move and shake my hiney.  Of course, he tells me that it’s not the way one does it.
This has brought up some insecurities in me: “I’m not good enough.  No one is there for me.”  This is a great lesson for me, and I’m determined to let go and experience “following”.  As a result, I have signed up for dance lessons so that I can get better and am anxious to experience all that is intended for me.
Guess what those insecurities are related to?  Childhood!  There was a great deal of chaos while growing up, and I took on the belief that no one was there for me so I had to be there for myself.   This comes out on the dance floor about following my partner and being able to rely on him.  I have made this realization and am doing my own energy work around this.  Too bad we’re not tap dancing as the EFT which involves tapping would go right along with it.
Fortunately, this man is so understanding as I explain all of this to him.   We can laugh about it and he is helping me to let go on many different levels.
For today, dance and let go.  Know that you are enough, and that you are whole and complete just the way you are.  God is always there for you and surrounds you with his love.   He also puts people in your path to help and all you need to do is ask.  This is another great lesson for me.
God also encourages you to shake your hiney too because it makes you feel good.  Like Wayne Dyer says, “feeling good and feeling God are synonymous.
Dance and feel your body move.  You are awesome!
Love and hugs,
Tami

When the normally clear lens of the eye have a painless clouding, it is called cataract. If you do not treat it in time, it causes blindness. Surgical treatment can however, cure it in time. Most of the people over 60 do suffer from some clouding of the lens. But you can prevent them or treat them by following the simple home remedies below.
If you have cataracts or want to prevent them, do the following simple home remedies to take care of the situation:
• Drink orange juice: Increasing your intake of Vitamin C will reduce the risk of developing cataracts. It is recommended that you take two times the recommended dietary allowance of Vitamin C to protect against the occurrence of cataract. That means you should include 11/2 cup of strawberries, 1 cup of orange juice or 2 oranges.
• Take beta-carotene and Vitamin E: Research has shown that increasing the beta-carotene and Vitamin E intake offer some protection against cataract. Have more of orange and yellow vegetables like carrots, squash and sweet potatoes for beta-carotene and almonds, fortified cereals, peanut butter and sun flower seeds for Vitamin E.
• Use sunglasses or hat: Covering your eyes by sunglasses or hats while out in the sun has shown to reduce the incidences of cataracts. Choose sunglasses that have UV protection. There is no need to spend a lot of money on designer glasses. You can purchase sunglasses from the local shops too.
• Look away from harmful radiation: Whenever you are near a microwave, oven or x-ray, always look away. Though many manufacturers claim that their microwaves are safe, it is always better to avoid looking at them in order to protect the eyes. The same holds true for x-rays.
• Control your drinking habits: Having occasional drinks will not harm your eyes. But prolonged drinking will certainly harm your eyes. This is because alcohol interferes with the nutritional supplies to the lenses and thus leads to cataract formation. Even the alcoholics having good diets can have cataracts due to the interference of the alcohol with the nutrient supply to the eye.
• Stop smoking: Research has shown that smokers are more likely to develop cataract than non-smokers. Toxic substances from the smoke of a cigarette damage the lens nucleus and thus cause cataract. When you quit smoking, you have the risk of developing cataracts.
• Take pain relievers: People who take pain relievers like aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen have a reduced risk of developing cataracts. This is due to the fact that these drugs, the rate at which your body uses glucose and lesser the blood sugar, lower is your risk of developing cataract. This is also one of the reasons why diabetics are more prone to cataracts.

In recent times there has been a tremendous upsurge in the popularity of drugs amongst teens and young adults. A new culture of “club drugs” has emerged within the bar, rave and nightclub scene across Europe, The United States, Australia and other wealthy nations. The club drugs of choice are:

-MDMA (Ecstasy)
-Rohypnol
-GHB and
-Ketamine

These drugs offer relatively cheap highs and their pill form make them easy to consume and traffic. Most of these drugs are usually used in high doses and according to http://www.rehabcentreinfo.com are easily capable of causing spikes in body temperature (malignant hyperthermia), leading to muscle, kidney and cardiovascular damage.

MDMA (ECSTASY) is a synthetic, psychoactive drug and stands for methylenedioxymethamphetamine. There are various other street names for this drug such as; beans, hug, love drug, XTC and Adam, but ecstasy is the most common name. It offers the user a stimulant and hallucinogenic affect and has properties like that of both amphetamines and LSD. It is most common in pill form due to the ease of use although it can be injected, snorted or used in a suppository form.
Psychological complications directly attributed to the use of MDMA include:

-Confusion
-Depression
-Sleep Problems
-Anxiety
-Paranoia

Physical problems include:

-Muscle tension
-Involuntary teeth clenching
-Nausea
-Blurred vision
-Faintness
-Chills or Sweating

The use of MDMA has also been linked to brain damage, primarily affecting the parts responsible for memory, pleasure and critical thought. Obviously due to the unregulated nature of the drug, the contents can vary greatly and also the concentrations. The use of this drug has grown tremendously in the past ten years if emergency room figures are anything to go by. In 1994 only 250 cases involving MDMA were reported but that figure has swelled to 2,850 in 1999 and continues to grow steadily.

ROHYPNOL, GBH and KETAMINE are all used to depress the central nervous system. These drugs are almost completely tasteless and odorless as well as being colorless. This lends the drugs to being used as “date rape drugs”, a use that became more common during the 1990’s. Much like MDMA, these depressants have grown enormously in popularity over the past ten years. The side effects can include:

-Loss of motor skills
-Amnesia
-Seizure
-Nausea
-Hallucinations
-High Blood Pressure
-Depression

These drugs have the potential to be particularly dangerous when mixed with alcohol.

Cocaine Abuse: What Can Be Done?

Learn about effective cocaine abuse treatment and help your loved one beat addiction. The right information is the most powerful weapon you have to treat addiction and really get your loved one off drugs. cocaine abuse.

Article Body:
Cocaine abuse has become the most abused major stimulant in the USA and statistics show that emergency room visits for it are increasing. Cocaine abuse has been around for as long as anyone can remember.

Derived from the "innocent" cocoa plant, it is considered the "champagne" of drugs, one of its street names. There is an array of street names describing the different uses.

There are various ways that an addict will use this drug, amongst them being snorting, smoking one of the derivatives known as crack or rock. Historically, cocaine was known as the rich man's drug. This is changing rapidly as teenagers have found a new sensation in mixing it with marijuana.

The highly addictive nature of cocaine makes it an extremely dangerous drug and many a user will tell you that they're not addicted. This is so far from the truth to be ridiculous. If cocaine abuse isn't a problem to the addict, how come they are still using it?

No-one would willingly remain addicted. The penalties are extreme. Deprive someone who is abusing cocaine of his "fix" for long enough and you will get all kinds of mental phenomena occurring as their "need" increases.

It leads to a life of misery as cocaine abuse will lead to crime, first within the immediate family circle, then to friends and then out into society, the consequences of which can result in being incarcerated without any real hope of a full cocaine abuse treatment program as they become subjected to the "court system".

As with any drug abuse situation, cocaine abuse is no different. There is a minefield of information on the 'net, with many diverse solutions. Just trying to unscramble the true facts from misinformation can create such indecision in one trying to get help for cocaine abuse that new problems arise. How do you decide what will work and what won't? How do you know what is fact and what is fiction?

Although cocaine abuse is considered to be a "mental" addiction and not a  physical one, the fact remains those residuals of cocaine or crack lodge in the fatty tissue of the body. If these are not dealt with, the person can experience cravings weeks, days, months or even decades later and revert to cocaine abuse or some other replacement abuse because they basically get "reminded" of the earlier "pleasures".

Once the physical aspects have been dealt with and are no longer having an affect on them, the next thing would be to help them get to the bottom of the reason they did it in the first place. Whatever those reasons are, they are known only to him and him alone. No-one can assume to know for anyone else what their problems are, no matter how much we observe them. You cannot see inside the person and it is very harmful to tell them what is wrong and what to think.

The only real road to full rehabilitation is for them to find their own reason and, once known, they can then be helped to resolve it and work on their recovery. They have to do it themselves and with the right tools and the properly trained folks ready and willing to do it, you will have your loved one back in the family fold, not as a liability to society but as a contributing member shouldering his share.

Cocaine Addiction Forms and Risks

Learn the cycle of cocaine addiction treatment and help your loved one.  The right information is the most powerful weapon you have to get your loved one off drugs.

Article Body:
If you even suspect a loved one of cocaine addiction, it is better to take action and find out you were mistaken than not take action and find out they are addicted. The consequences can be very serious.

So, how do you tell if a loved one is in the throes of cocaine addiction? There are many different ways of taking cocaine so the obvious symptoms differ. It can be snorted, ingested, smoked or injected.

Snorting cocaine (also known as freebasing), for example, can lead to the loss of the sense of smell, nosebleeds, problems with swallowing, hoarseness and a chronically running nose. A sure sign is someone who is constantly sniffing. Snorting is a highly dangerous way of using it as the cocaine reaches the brain within seconds, resulting in an intense high but the euphoria quickly disappears, making the addict increase his use.

Smoking cocaine is probably the worst cocaine addiction there is and is considered to be the most addictive. Signs of use, however, are not that evident other than increased jumpiness, irritability or even paranoia.

Ingesting cocaine can cause severe bowel gangrene due to reduced blood flow. This is more difficult to tell but if a loved one suddenly starts having bowel movement problems, abdominal pain and nausea, consider cocaine addiction as a possibility.

Those who inject cocaine can experience severe allergic reactions and, as with all drug users who inject themselves, they are at risk of contracting HIV and other blood-borne diseases. This is easier to detect than those ingesting it as there will probably be visible needle marks.

Cocaine addiction leads to disturbances in the heart rhythm and can lead to heart attacks, chest pains and respiratory failure, strokes, seizures, headaches and gastrointestinal complications such as abdominal pain and nausea. Cocaine, having a tendency to decrease appetite, chronic users can become malnourished, which compounds the problem.

Binging on cocaine can lead to increased irritability, restlessness and paranoia. Paranoia is a sure sign that the user is smoking or snorting. Cocaine addiction can even lead to full-blown paranoid psychosis. Whatever you do, don't let be put on anti-psychotics because you will be switching them from a cocaine addiction to an anti-psychotic addiction plus the possibility of reversion to the cocaine as well.

Dealing with cocaine addiction is rather simple if you know what to do about it. The first thing is to get them onto a program that does not give them further drugs and can help them through withdrawal in the most effective and comfortable way using the correct vitamins and minerals that their already depleted body needs. There is a very specific method for handling cocaine addiction withdrawal that does not make them feel awful.

Once they are through the withdrawal, a good program would consist of getting the drug residuals out of their body in the safest and most effective way.

While they still have the drug residues in the body, they cannot think clearly and have low energy levels, making it impossible to grasp and understand the data they will need in the education part of the program.

Only after they have gotten rid of the drug residues in their body on the detoxification step of the program are they ready to continue with the rest of the cocaine addiction rehabilitation program.

The key things to look for in any cocaine addiction rehabilitation program is 1) comfortable, non-drug withdrawal, 2) a full detoxification program that rids their body of all the drug and toxic residues and 3) an educational aspect with the person being able to establish for himself why he became addicted in the first place and then working on the solution he has figured out from the education steps.

Cocaine Addiction, how can you spot it?

Word Count:
696

Summary:
Cocaine addiction is not that hard to spot as there are many clear signs easy to identify.  However, helping a cocaine addict to really defeat addiction is much harder and requires a few key elements.

Keywords:
Cocaine, Cocaine addiction, Cocaine treatment, Cocaine rehab, Cocaine detox, Cocaine Abuse.

Article Body:
How can you tell if your loved one is subjected to cocaine addiction? Is it just teenage behavior or school pressure that is making them act "strange"? It can be confusing to watch someone and be uncertain about their behavior.

There are certain physical manifestations one can look for when someone is involved with cocaine addiction but what of the behavior manifestations? One thing to realize is that anyone using drugs - even medical ones - is that the majority of them have a mental affect as well. Basically, the drugs throw you out of present time into something else that your mind gets stuck on.

A person who is suffering from cocaine addiction can appear to be in the same room as you are, doing the same things as you are but he's only partially there. There's often a sort of glazed look about their eyes and they can appear to be a bit like a robot.

He's there physically but he isn't tracking with what's going on. He does not "get" what you're saying and when you tell him to take out the garbage, he may pick up the broom and start sweeping. If you scold him he thinks you're crazy because he's supposed to sweep. It all looks odd. It is odd to you. He's just not tracking. It appears that he hears what you're saying but when you look he's doing something completely different.

If there's some kind of team effort going on and everyone else is working on a project together, he gets in the way and does very odd things. You ask him to pass the hammer and he comes back with a spoon, or something equally inappropriate.

It's not that he doesn't know what's going on around him. It's just that he believes that everyone else is stupid or unreasonable and don't know what they're doing. Because they're not doing what he can "see" is supposed to be going on, everyone else is crazy. And, to be sure, you could easily start to believe that you're losing it.

The end result is that anything you give someone who is under cocaine addiction to do has to be corrected by others and this can consume an awful lot of time. Imagine how that would affect a company and its production.

If you're still trying to determine if your loved one is addicted to cocaine or not, these are additional things to look out for in their behavior. If you already know they're addicted, then action is required immediately. The cost in despair and relationships - never mind the financial - can be very expensive if cocaine addiction is not dealt with speedily.

Fortunately, there is a solution and cocaine addiction can be fully overcome. The only criteria are that a program that gets excellent results is found. How do you find one like that when there are so many of them? You ask questions.

The first question should be, "What are your results?" Ask for references and speak to others who have done their program. Find out if their methods are authoritarian, if they use any form of drug to get people off drugs, do they go through a full detoxification program. With cocaine addiction, the body stores particles of cocaine in the fatty tissue, along with other toxins. If these residues are not removed and the fatty tissue cleaned up, the person can revert to cocaine addiction in a week, a month, even years and years later.

The final question to ask is what they do to get your loved rehabilitated. This is apart from the physical rehabilitation and is a very key part of any program. He has to get full understanding of his own problem and why he became addicted in order to effect recovery and this needs to be done without anyone else interjecting their opinions.

He is the only one that knows after all. His rehabilitation and full recovery of his willpower is so dependent on this point that anything else will just continue to keep him in a position where he is subjected to the will of others and you want him to be able to say "NO!"

Cocaine Took My Friends

Word Count:

Summary:
A true story about how my best friends were lost to cocaine addiction.

Keywords:
cocaine, cocaine use, cocaine addiction, cocaine abuse, cocaine treatment

Article Body:
I was present the first time my two best friends tried cocaine. They encouraged me to participate in their experimentation - I refused - but quietly observed their reactions to the drugs supposed "euphoric" effects. The following weekend, the same scenario presented itself; again, I refused and noticed how eager they were to partake in the drug again. Something about their level of anxiousness was unsettling; almost as if they were being driven to the drug by strange, unseen forces beyond their control. Control? Oh, yes, of course my friends proclaimed that they were in complete control of the drug - they would never become addicted!

With each passing weekend, my friends appeared to be increasingly eager to begin the night earlier and stay out later. I began to notice how much money they were expending to acquire the drugs and the increased level of alcohol consumption that appeared to compliment their cocaine habit - yes - a habit was forming. Of course, I tried to bring my observations to their attention, but my pleas were met with strong resistance. "I am in control!" they proclaimed. It was clear to me (observing from outside their cocaine-hazed weekends), that they were losing control rapidly.

The level of desire or craving my buddies had to obtain and consume cocaine was somewhat analogous to a small child desiring a piece of candy or a cookie - they just couldn't wait to get their hands on the cocaine. Their "only on the weekends" credo was somehow abandoned along the way. Now, weeknights seemed suitable for a little cocaine binge. Again, I tried to convince them of their rapidly-forming cocaine addiction and once again, I was met with even stronger resistance. "I didn't know what I was talking about," they proclaimed. 'Strange,' I thought to myself, as I was not the one throwing, hundreds of dollars and thousands of brain cells down the drain every few days.  What used to be fun social times spent together with my friends, had diminished to waiting by myself in a car, while they went into their suppliers house to buy their drugs. Needless to say, that wasn't my idea of enjoyment. It seemed as if their entire demeanor and priorities had changed; my friends were being transformed from intelligent, respectable and responsible individuals, into tunnel-visioned maniacs who cared about nothing other than the "high" they would derive from the next line of cocaine. It was clear at this point that they had serious cocaine abuse issues and helping them was beyond my control or abilities.

During the course of the next 18 months; one of my buddies, proceeded to spend every dime he had on cocaine use. He literally spent tens of thousands of dollars on the drug and sold most possessions he had to supplement his cocaine habit. We no longer rode mountain bikes or worked on our race car projects after work or on the weekends; rather, I could find him sleeping in a dark-cave-of-a-room in the middle of a beautiful day - having been up for two days straight doing cocaine and drinking, I suppose it was lucky he was just sleeping and not dead. He also lost his relationship during this course of time. He was really struggling, yet he still had enough perceptive ability remaining to allow him to try and rally above cocaine's evil grip. At this time, he had the good fortune to be found by a beautiful woman, where he found inspiration and hope. They were married and now have children. To this day, he still struggles with the cocaine addiction days of yore. And, although he doesn't consume the drug any longer - he tells me the craving remains - like a bad dream.

My other friend, a third degree black belt in martial arts and weight lifting partner of 10 years, no longer showed-up at the gym or at his karate master's dojo. He now lied to everyone he knew, family, finance and friends. He had also wasted thousands of dollars on cocaine and alcohol. He too, lost his relationship and self-respect. I suppose he finally hit rock-bottom one day when he called me in tears, proclaiming, "I need help." Shortly after that, he distanced himself from both myself and any remaining friends he had. We haven't spoken in 5 years now - I hope he found himself. Unfortunately, our friendship appears to be forever lost.

I felt compelled to share this story with anyone who has ever considered experimenting with cocaine. Let this story serve as warning and as confirmation that the words, "I can control it," couldn't be further from the truth. Cocaine use destroys relationships, jobs and lives. Don't be fooled by those who try to convince you otherwise! Cocaine is a powerful and dangerous drug. Maybe you can save yourself from going through the living hell my best friends experienced by simply doing what I did - just say 'No!'

People take medications everyday for several reasons, depending on their current health condition. Whether it's for a simple headache to the much more severe anxiety attack, medicines are the most affordable, easy, and practical way in treating such health ailments.
Medicines come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and forms, depending on what kind of ailment it treats or how it is taken. These medications are seen in our neighborhood drugstores, where it is conveniently available for the whole community. However, not all medication purchased in these stores are over the counter (OTC) drugs. Some medications may be harmful if taken without medical examination and approval of one's physician. Medications such as those are called prescription drugs and are made available to people only with a doctor's prescription.
It is fairly normal for some people to take more than one type of drug in a day. Usually, medicines are specifically intended to treat a certain health condition. Although some medications say that they can relieve more than just headaches (think flu, and pain reliever all in one), it is possible that this might not be as effective as other medicines directed at each symptom.
Taking more than one medication is not always considered dangerous to us, as long as it is in low dosages. Vitamins or similar supplements are mostly taken in conjunction with other medication. If one needs to treat ailments like flu, colds, fever, or headaches, it is possible to take a medication strictly for the purpose of relieving the said condition. But sometimes a person already has a prescribed drug regimen aside from taking over the counter medication.  In this case, a person should know the drug interaction between his/her medications.
Drug interaction happens when the effect of a certain drug is changed when another medication is taken. This interaction can also happen with food, alcohol, and tobacco and can result in side effects, possible overdose, decrease in effectiveness of the medication, or a higher concentration of the drug in the blood. There are three major descriptions of medicines: the prescription drugs, nonprescription medicines, and supplements which include vitamins and herbal medicine. All these can interact within your body and can produce unwanted side effects that can harm one's health, causing permanent damage to your organs or at the very least seriously disrupting your body's natural processes.
In line with this, there are drug interaction tools that are used to provide information as to what specific medication has an adverse effect on another. Online health websites are using reference checks to see if your medications have improper effects, cause an overdose, or would not work well with another specified medication. By using these, one could prevent such events from happening. The results of the drug interaction checks would be an appropriate reference as to what medications should a person take for a day, or a reschedule of medications may also be considered. For further information, it is wise to consult your physician and ask about drug interactions, and how to prevent unwanted effects caused by multiple medicine intake.

COCONUT OIL FOUND BENEFICIAL FOR LACTATING MOTHERS...
The unique composition of human breast milk fat includes the fatty acids, lauric acid and capric acid, which have potent antimicrobial properties. These fatty acids offer the nursing infant protection from viruses such as herpes and HIV, protozoa such as giardia lamblia, and bacteria such as chlamydia and heliocobater.
A study published in 1998 in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition has shown that lactating mothers who eat coconut oil and other coconut products, have significantly increased levels of lauric acid and capric acid in their breast milk. Thus, the milk supply has increased amounts of the protective antimicrobials , which will give even greater protection to the nursing infant.
Pregnant females store fat to assure successful lactation. Any lauric acid and capric acid in the diet becomes part of the adipose stores. The milk fat of a lactating mother is made up of these stores as well as her current diet. If her diet doesn't contain lauric acid, then generally her milk fat will contain around 3% lauric acid and round 1% capric acid.
When a lactating woman adds foods rich in lauric acid to her diet, the amount of lauric acid available in her breastmilk increases substantially to levels three times the original level and nearly double the amount of capric acid. In countries where coconut oil is a diet staple, levels of lauric acid in the mother’s milk can be as high as 21% and capric acid can be as high as 6% giving her infant even more protection against viruses, bacteria, and protozoa.
Coconut oil can be used instead of butter in cooking and baking. You can stir it into oatmeal or even use it as a spread. Also, this oil's antimicrobial properties are beneficial for the skin. Pregnant women in many cultures the world over rub cocnut oil on their expanding bellies to keep skin soft and prevent itching.

Coconut oil does not contain toxic unsaturated oil that other oils do. It is loaded with healthy benefits that include lowering your cholesterol and your weight. If you find yourself in the “50 and over” group, should your cholesterol and weight rank higher than your retirement plan?

Coconut oil has a pleasant taste, does not go rancid (even after a year) like other oils and has health benefits instead of health detriments. Civilizations consuming coconut oil without the trans fat oils are healthier, have less colon problems, less cancer, do not battle weight loss and have less heart disease.

Coconut oil has antioxidant properties due to the lack of oxidation of the oil in the body thereby reducing the need to supplement Vitamin E that is normally used up in the oxidation process. The general studies indicate that regular consumption of coconut oil reduces cholesterol to a normal level by converting cholesterol into pregnenolone.

Ever since “trans fat” became a dirty food, we have looked for replacement oils that will deliver our favorite "bad" food to the table without sacrificing the good taste. It has been established that our best bet to stay healthy is to eat healthy. Eating healthy includes eliminating harmful oils and supplementing our diet with foods that includes basic building block nutrients that have eroded from our farms and gardens.

The trans fats stay in the bloodstream and eventually collect as fat in the vessels and body. Coconut oil goes straight to the liver and is converted to energy. This “good” oil speeds up your body’s metabolic rate, causes you to burn calories and in this manner you will loose weight.

Coconut oil has a laundry list of healthy benefits. Using coconut oil as a supplement, 3-4 tablespoonfuls a day, produces sufficient lauric acid. Lauric acid produces monolaurin. Monolaurin is a natural antiviral that kills viruses. This is a huge support to the immune system.

Cooking with coconut oil will eliminate harmful fatty chains that manifests themselves as trans fatty acids in the body. If you are reducing trans fat in your body you also raise HDL (“good”) cholesterol levels and lower LDL (“bad”) cholesterol levels in your bloodstream.

The medicinal use worldwide of coconut oil includes: supplement to prevent osteoporosis, sore throat, kidney stone dissolving, reduce swelling and for weight loss.

The results are clear, nutritionists and dietitians agree that coconut oil is one of the healthiest supplements you can consume. Civilizations that have used coconut oil are generally healthier and do not have the many western nation diseases such as heart disease, blood pressure issues, blood sugar, obesity and diabetes.

Coconut oil can be used for cooking and frying. Battle weight loss the natural way. Replace all oil such as butter, margarine, vegetable oil or shortening with coconut oil. Warmed to 76 degrees, coconut is liquid and can be used in salad dressing. You can also use it as a skin lotion. It is liquid on contact to the skin.

It may be a while before it is time to make another new years resolution. Don’t wait, for your health’s sake, make a change now that will change the “quality of your life” of tomorrow.

Origin:  Southeast Asia, South America, New Zealand and India
Description:  Known as Sanskrit “the tree which provides all the necessities of life”, the Coconut Palm yields 50-75 coconuts per year and not a part of it goes unused.  Coconut water contains sugars, fiber, protein, anti-oxidants and a variety of vitamins and minerals.  The sap from cutting the flowers from the tree is used to make a drink called “toddy”.  The fibrous husk from the tree, the coir, is used in many things including ropes, mats, brushes and potting soil.  If you no longer need a coconut tree, the apical bud of an adult tree can be eaten as “palm-cabbage”, and the “heart of the palm” is a delicacy in gourmet salads.  The ‘no longer’ clause due to consuming these will kill the tree.  And of course, there is the white meat of the nut that can be eaten directly or used to make coconut milk, coconut cream, and coconut oil of which we will focus today.
Benefits:  Researchers have increasingly revisited the health benefits of coconut oil.  The findings have associated it with many healthful benefits starting with weight loss due to the medium length of the fatty acid chains (aka MCT’s).  Though it is considered a saturated fat, coconut oil is a different structure from the notorious saturated animal fats, and even offers benefits not available in the longer chained plant oils.  The medium length of the coconut's fatty acid chain enables rapid breakdown in digestion as well as ease of use when burned for energy.  These same MCT’s, along with monoglycerides, are found primarily in coconut oil and breast milk and contribute toward well-being, which includes a role in thyroid health.  It has tested well in helping prevent hypothyroidism due to its evasion of rancidity.  Studies show that rancidity is harmful to the thyroid as well as many cells throughout the body. (The plant oils used by mainstream food manufacturers have a high propensity toward rancidity and must be processed through hydrogenation into trans-fatty acids.)
Another benefit of using coconut oil is that it supports the suppression of Candida (aka, yeast) in the digestive system.  While yeast commonly inhabits your digestive system, it is kept controlled due to the body’s presence of probiotics (aka “good” bacteria).  In the event the person starts taking antibiotics, prescription medications, birth control pills or maintains a poor diet and experiences daily stress, Candida yeast begins to fiercely outnumber the good bacteria, causing evidence of infection.  Also, digestive disorders such as Crohn's disease and IBS can have positive results from one consuming coconut oil.  The MCTs will not only be easily digested, but will also assist in the absorption of the nutrients from other foods.
Blurb:  While time may be limited on the amount of pampering a mother can do for herself, there are steps that can be taken to look our best and coconut oil is here to help.  Coconut oil is used for treating damaged hair, dry scalp and pimples, moisturizing dry and aging skin, and enabling anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, and anti-viral effects throughout the body.  It has also shown great reduction of keratosis polaris, rosacea and psoriasis.  You do not have to pay absorbent fees for beauty products.  Instead, buy a large jar of the solid oil and use it directly on the appropriate area as well as ingesting it for overall well being…it tastes great and goes down smooth!

Before we get all excited over the recent news about coffee being our new antioxidant, we need to take a look at the “entire” picture. Is there truly a coffee antioxidant? If there is, how exactly is coffee an antioxidant? Does it become the antioxidant when it’s heated? Does the coffee antioxidant benefit everyone? Are there still dangers to drinking coffee? How much coffee is good for us and when does it become bad for us?
First let’s try to break this down to something we can all understand. I mean, have you read the information about, “Green coffee antioxidant extract?”
Here’s a quote from the applied food sciences, “Chlorogenic acid has been proven in animal studies in vitro to inhibit the hydrolysis of the glucose-6-phosphate enzyme in an irreversible fashion. This mechanism allows chlorogenic acid to reduce hepatic glycogenolysis (transformation of glycogen into glucose) and to reduce the absorption of new glucose. In addition, in vivo studies on animal subjects have demonstrated that the administration of chlorogenic acid lessens the hyperglycemic peak resulting from the glycogenolysis brought a....“  Here is a link to the entire pdf file if you like. http://www.biochemix.com/pdf/gca_antioxidant.pdf
Basically chlorogenic acid is an antioxidant. This is one of the components in a coffee bean. Antioxidants are said to be an inhibitor of certain types of diseases. However, they are talking about cholorogenic acid in an isolated form. So, don’t start chewing on coffee beans just yet.
When I realized how much mumbo jumbo was in that .pdf file I decided to try and find something a little less science lab nerd related and here’s a quote from the next site I discovered, “The specific antiradical activity against the hydroxyl radical of the water soluble components in green and dark roasted Coffea arabica and Coffea robusta coffee samples, both in vitro by the chemical deoxiribose assay and ex vivo in a biological cellular system (IMR32 cells), were determined. All the tested coffee solutions showed remarkable antiradical activity.” http://coffeescience.org/antioxidant
Do these people think we all have medical and science degrees??? I mean come on Mr. Science guy, get a clue, write something with fewer ego-stroking sentences ok?
Once you get down to the very bottom of that article, you’ll find something that makes sense, “The results indicate that brewed coffee contains many antioxidants and consumption of antioxidant-rich brewed coffee may inhibit diseases caused by oxidative damages.”
I should get high kudos’ for giving that little bit of information up so freely. Now let me give you an idea of what I had to chew threw in order to get to the “bottom line”.
Coffee beans are not all a like. Not all coffee beans are of the same quality or even the same make up. Sort of like comparing tennis shoes to sandals. Both go on your feet, but they are not made up of the same components.
You can actually break coffee down into several different water-soluble components. The dietary fiber derived from roasted coffee silverskin. This is one component of the coffee bean that has high antioxidant content.
Here’s something else I found to be a bit tweaky. When they conduct these studies it’s not like they get a huge group of people together, poor them all a cup of coffee and then measure just what sort of antioxidant effects are derived from drinking it. I mean really, doesn’t that make sense? Wouldn’t that be the easiest way to figure this out?
No? Hey, did he just call me a knucklehead!
Okay, so that’s not how science works. What they do in fact is the break down the coffee beans into different components. They filter out the components that the coffee antioxidant is found in, and then they test lab rats in a variety of experiments to determine how well they survive with or without the various additives in their diet.
When they discover something really swell, like a coffee antioxidant, our culture of coffee drinking addicts suddenly becomes a feverorish mob. For years and years we’ve heard bad things about coffee of which most of us ignored, things like, “It’s bad for your heart, increases blood pressure, may cause breast cancer, probably keeps you awake at night, and my personal favorite, has a poisonous gas when brewed.” So, when the world of coffee addicts even gets a tiny hint that coffee could have something beneficial, believe me they don’t just drink more coffee, they try to get everyone to join them.
Suddenly everyone’s an expert. Webmasters quickly write articles about how coffee cures cancer and helps to eliminate world hunger – ok, well maybe they didn’t say that, but believe me, some of the stuff I’ve read online will make you percolate too.
OYEE!
So, here we now have scientific studies “proving” to us that coffee has antioxidants. Researchers have identified several compounds in coffee that create a coffee antioxidant. Why would this be of interest to us? Because scientific studies are showing that antioxidants may help prevent cancer. You see the connection here.
Coffee has Antioxidants = Coffee cures cancer. (WRONG)
However, until human studies are done, science cannot state exactly how much coffee must be consumed in order gain this protection against colon cancer or any other type of cancer. I read this one article about studies on how they took human intestines and well… you don’t wanna know. Anyway, they mention the colon caner thing in that study.
In all the reading that I have done I still find that there is conflicting information. The thing about the Internet is this – just because it is written online, doesn’t mean it’s based on truth or fact.
Before the coffee is roasted the antioxidant benefits are varied. However, once the coffee is roasted and served as a drink things get evened out. They all seem to have the same degrees of antioxidants.
Some studies suggest coffee having other benefits such as added fertility in men and some benefits for those suffering from diabetes. You’ll have to read those studies on your own. It’s far too much garbled scientific goop for me to repeat here.
Here’s the problem with all this information. The translation from scientific research to a commonly read article is not easily done. Imagine if you had to translate a story from its original language using only a dictionary for both languages. Somewhere along the line things are going to be misinterpreted.
The fact that a coffee antioxidant exists may be true, but the reality is that coffee can be just as harmful if your body doesn’t like it, if you consume too much, if you have high blood pressure, and if it keeps you awake at night.
So, what do I know now that I’ve read far too many science studies and online articles?
Is there truly a coffee antioxidant? Yes, but the actual amount needed to be consumed in order to receive the anti-cancer benefits by humans is unknown.
How exactly is coffee an antioxidant? Coffee alone isn’t the antioxidant, it’s several different components that are part of the coffee bean. Roasting and heating the coffee changes the total antioxidant output.
Does it become the antioxidant when it’s heated? It seems that although some coffee beans like green coffee beans may be higher in antioxidants that other more common beans, once they are roasted and heated for consumption, the results are the same regarding the antioxidantal benefits.
Does the coffee antioxidant benefit everyone? Honestly, this is NOT a question easily answered. In fact, the truth is it is still unknown just how beneficial coffee antioxidants are for humans.
Are there still dangers to drinking coffee? Yes, of course there is. If you have high blood pressure and you have “seen” how coffee enhances this problem, you know it’s bad for YOU personally. If you can’t get proper sleep or you drive everyone around you nuts because you can’t sit still or shut-up, you know coffee is bad for you. Use common sense and listen to your body. Coffee is not good for everyone and unknown just how good for anyone.
How much coffee is good for us and when does it become bad for us? Again – drink coffee in moderation, pay attention to your own body. Exercise and good eating habits are a far better way to get healthy than drinking 10 cups of cappuccino a day.
All things in moderation. After reading everything about this new thing called a coffee antioxidant I have decided that there are better ways of getting antioxidants into my blood. Coffee may have many benefits, but so does water and it is possible to drown from drinking too much water. Yes, I know, you have to really drink a lot to accomplish this, but it’s the principle of the matter. Too much of anything is not a good thing.

Coffee May Reduce Liver Cancer Risk

Word Count:

Summary:
Can coffee help fight cancer?  New research shows that caffeine found in coffee may help fight the Big C.  The chemical compounds found in coffee help fight cirrhosis and other serious liver diseases.  According to researchers, patients who participated in the research in Europe were less prone to liver cancer than patients in Japan who drank less coffee.

Article Body:
March 31, 2007, Milan —  A recent study conducted by the researchers of Istituto di Ricerche Farmacologiche Mario Negri (IRFMN) in Milan, Italy showed that drinking coffee may help reduce the risk of liver cancer. Led by Francesca Bravi, the team combined all published data to find the link between coffee drinking and hepatocellar carcinoma (HCC). HCC is a primary cancer of the liver. Liver cancer is the third largest cause of cancer deaths around the world, just behind lung and stomach cancer. At least 11 studies that were conducted in southern Europe and Japan were the foundation of the IRFMN study.
The IRFMN study was a meta-analysis of published studies on HCC that included how much coffee patients had consumed. Researchers combined all published data to obtain an overall quantitative estimate of the association between coffee consumption and HCC development.
The figures showed that coffee drinkers have at least 41 percent reduction of HCC risk compared to those who never consumed coffee. The beneficial effects of coffee consumption were highly progressive in studies that were done in southern Europe, widely drank, and from Japan, where coffee drinking is less frequent, and in subjects with chronic liver diseases
Animal and laboratory studies have shown that some compounds in coffee may act as blocking agents that work by reacting with enzymes involved in carcinogenic detoxification. Caffeine is a component of coffee that has been shown to give beneficial effects on the liver enzymes and other enzymes of the body. Coffee consumption has also been linked to reduced risks of liver diseases and cirrhosis, both of which can lead to liver cancer.
Separate studies also show that caffeine may aggravate the symptoms of menopause or intensify the effects of certain antibiotics. On the other hand, heavy caffeine consumption may cause miscarriage. Other animal studies show that skin cream added with caffeine may lower the risk of skin cancer in mice.
While the study found a statistically significant relationship between drinking coffee and having less liver cancer, the authors note that it needs to be repeated in other groups. The authors note that despite the consistency of the results of the study, it is difficult to derive causal collaboration based on the observational studies alone. It may be that patients with digestive tract diseases, including liver disorders, naturally reduce their coffee consumption, even though avoidance of coffee is not routinely recommended.
While the study found a statistically significant relationship between drinking coffee and having less liver cancer, the authors note that it needs to be repeated in other groups to be more concrete.
The IRFMN researchers note that the perception of coffee consumption was solely based on patients’ reporting, although the recollection of coffee drinking has been shown to be accurate. Factors like hepatitis B and C, cirrhosis, social class indictors, alcohol use, and smoking suggests that these factors did not influence the results of the studies.
The results from this research may provide some evidence of a link between coffee consumption and liver cancer. However, the interpretation of this research remains unclear because of lack of long-term evaluation of the results of the said study.

article:

One look at a line at the local Starbucks in the morning and you don’t need to be convinced of the huge amount of coffee consumption in the U.S. The National Coffee Association found in 2000 that 54% of the U.S. adult population drinks coffee daily. Guess there’s nothing like the first double espresso in the morning to clear the cobwebs from our heads so we can face the day.
But what are the effects relating to fitness? If that grande-no-foam-double-whipped-extra-shot-no-fat latte gives us the get-up-and-go to start our day at work, will it do the same if we’re headed to the gym?
Physiological Effects
The main ingredient in coffee that gives us that jolt is caffeine, a central nervous system stimulant. Caffeine is found naturally in coffee beans, tea leaves, and chocolate, and is a popular added ingredient in carbonated beverages and some over-the-counter medications such as cold remedies, diuretics, aspirin, and weight control aids. It is estimated that in the U.S., 75% of caffeine intake comes from coffee.
Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system by blocking adenosine, a neurotransmitter that normally causes a calming effect in the body. The resulting neural stimulation due to this blockage causes the adrenal glands to release adrenaline, the "fight or flight" hormone. Your heart rate increases, your pupils dilate, your muscles tighten up, and glucose is released into your blood stream for extra energy. Voila… you now have the caffeine buzz.
But wait…we’re not done yet. Caffeine also increases dopamine. Dopamine activates the pleasure in parts of the brain. It has been suspected that this also contributes to caffeine addiction.
Physiologically, caffeine makes us you feel alert, pumps adrenaline to give you energy and changes dopamine production to make you feel good. Another espresso, anyone?
Ergogenic Effects of Caffeine to Performance
In addition to various psychological and physiological benefits, numerous studies have documented caffeine’s ergogenic effect on athletic performance, particularly in regard to endurance. Studies show that caffeine ingestion prior to exercising extended endurance in moderately strenuous aerobic activity. Other studies researching caffeine consumption on elite distance runners and distance swimmers show increased performance times following caffeine consumption.
Despite effects on endurance, caffeine produced no effect on maximal muscular force in a study measuring voluntary and electrically stimulated muscle actions. However, the same study did show findings that suggest caffeine has an ergogenic effect on muscle during repetitive, low frequency stimulation.
Caffeine’s positive performance-enhancing effects have been well documented. So much so that the International Olympic Committee placed a ban leading to disqualification for an athlete with urinary limits exceeding 12 mg/mL. Roughly 600 to 800mg of caffeine, or 4 to 7 cups of coffee, consumed over a 30-minute period would be enough to exceed this level and cause disqualification. The National Collegiate Athletic Association has a similar limit, set at 15 mg/mL.
Coffee: A Pre-Workout Drink?
Before you make Starbucks part of your pre-workout warm-up in order to harness the effects of caffeine, be aware that simply downing a grande may not give you similar benefits found in these studies. A recent Canadian study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology compared the effect of coffee and caffeine on run time to exhaustion. A group of nine men took part in five trials. Sixty minutes before each run, the men took one of the following:

               A placebo
               Caffeine capsules
               De-caffeinated coffee with caffeine added
               Regular coffee

Performance times were up to 10 times longer in subjects using the caffeine capsules, with no differences in times among the other trials. Since the level of caffeine absorption was similar during the caffeine trials, researchers concluded something in the coffee itself that interferes with caffeine’s performance-enhancing effects. This makes sense considering that there are literally hundreds of compounds dissolved when coffee beans are roasted, ground and extracted. Results of this research suggest that if benefits of caffeine on endurance times are desired, caffeine capsules work better than coffee.
Caffeine and Creatine Supplementation
Although caffeine has been shown to increase endurance time, further research shows it may actually blunt the effect of creatine, a popular and well-researched compound known for its consistent ergogenic effects. In a study evaluating the effect of pre-exercise caffeine ingestion on both creatine stores and high-intensity exercise performance, caffeine totally counteracted any effects of creatine supplementation. It was suggested that individuals who creatine load should refrain from caffeine-containing foods and beverages if positive effects are desired.
The Downside of Caffeine
Despite coffee/caffeine’s positive effects on psychological states and performance, there are numerous documented risks that must considered when consuming caffeine, whether for performance-enhancing effects or simply as a part of daily dietary consumption.
Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system and can produce restlessness, headaches, and irritability. Caffeine also elevates your heart rate and blood pressure. Over the long-term as your body gets used to caffeine, it requires higher amounts to get the same effects. Certainly, having your body in a state of hormonal emergency all day long isn’t very healthy.
Caffeine is also a diuretic and causes a loss of fluid, which then leads to a dehydrating effect. This is obviously not conducive to fitness activities such as resistance training, as fluid is needed for the transfer of nutrients to facilitate muscular growth. It is also important when considering the further loss of fluid while exercising in hot environments.
Perhaps the most important long-term problem is the effect of caffeine on sleep. The half-life of caffeine in the body is about 6 hours. If you drink a big cup of coffee with 200 mg of caffeine at 4PM, at 10PM you still have about 100mg in your body. By 4AM, you still have 50mg floating in your system. Even though you may be able to sleep, you may not be able to obtain the restful benefits of deep sleep. What’s worse, the cycle continues as you may use more and more caffeine in hopes of counteracting this deficit.
Caffeinated Conclusions…
Though caffeine has some benefits in relation to exercise performance, risks have been documented. Most problems seem evident with very high consumption. The American Heart Association says that moderate coffee drinking (one or two cups per day) does not seem to be harmful for most people. As with everything else, moderation is the key to healthy caffeine consumption. Further research is needed to clearly determine whether the performance-enhancing benefits of caffeine outweigh the potential risks.
