title:Coffee, Tea or Liver Problems; Study Finds That Coffee Reduces The Risk Of Chronic Liver Problems

The link between the diet and the liver has long been studied by the American Liver Foundation and other organizations.  Research in this area is important because it could help reduce the suffering and economic burden posed by liver diseases.  New research suggests that caffeine, found in both coffee and tea, is a practical way to reduce the risks of developing chronic liver problems.

The liver, the largest organ in the body, plays a vital role of performing many complex functions which are essential for life.  Since 85-90% of the blood that leaves the stomach and intestines is filtered through the liver, the liver is responsible for converting the food we eat into stored energy, and chemicals necessary for life and growth.  Additionally, the liver acts as the filter to remove alcohol and toxic substances from the blood by converting them to substances that can be excreted from the body.  The liver processes drugs and medications absorbed from the digestive system which enables the use of the medication by our bodies.  The liver also manufactures and exports important body chemicals used by the body, such as bile, which is a substance used by our bodies to digest fats in the small intestine. (Source: The American Liver Foundation)

According to a study conducted by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases and Social & Scientific Systems, Inc., coffee and tea may reduce the risk of serious liver damage in people who are typically exposed to such risk.  People who regularly drink too much alcohol, are overweight, or have too much iron in the blood may benefit the most from the findings of this study of nearly 10,000 coffee-drinkers.  The records of the participants in a government survey were also analyzed over a 19-year period.

The study showed that those whose diets included drinking more than two cups of coffee or tea daily developed chronic liver disease at only half the rate of those who drank less than one cup daily.  While the findings of the study potentially provide evidence that certain people can decrease that risk by drinking coffee it may be too early to conclude that this risk-reduction measure is a cure for all.

Dr. Constance Ruhl helped lead the study, but cautions that “it is too soon to encourage patients to increase their coffee and tea intake.”  The study found that coffee provided no protection to people at risk of liver disease from other causes.  For example, Viral Hepatitis is a form of liver disease that affects millions of people from different backgrounds and African Americans are more likely to develop this disease due to certain lifestyle factors.  The study offered no evidence that drinking coffee would provide any benefit in such situations and, therefore, does not suggest that African Americans rush to the nearest Starbucks.  Dr. Ruhl hopes the findings will offer guidance to researchers who are studying liver disease progression.

Coffee has joined the ranks of red wine and chocolate as a guilty pleasure that may actually be good for you.  As much as it is a great way to get that “fix” in the morning, recent studies have shown that coffee has been found to be rich in antioxidants and contains hundreds of pain-relieving and anti-bacterial compounds.  Although one should not drink coffee with wild abandon, it’s comforting to know that maybe that cup or two in the morning may be good for you.
Recent studies have shown that moderate coffee drinking can reduce the risk of colon cancer (due to it’s ability to keep you regular), gallstones, cirrhosis of the liver and more, due to the fact the it is loaded with healthy antioxidants.  So loaded, that studies have implied that coffee contains higher levels of antioxidants compared to other commonly consumed beverages, such as tea and fruit juice.
Several studies are also being conducted on Parkinson’s and diabetic Patients.  Research has shown that just one cup of coffee per day can halve your risk of Parkinson’s, the brain disease that causes tremors and affects movement.  Caffeine may protect the brain cells typically lost to Parkinson’s disease.  However, it has been noted that women on hormone therapy do not seem to benefit.  It is felt that Estrogen may dilute the effectiveness of caffeine.  It has also been found that if a woman drinks three cups of coffee a day, she can reduce her risk of Type 2 Diabetes by twenty to thirty percent.  Coffee may help promote the delivery of insulin to the tissues.  Experts believe that coffee’s antioxidants, such as chlorogenic acid and caffeine acid, deserve the credit.  There are also on going studies that are producing favorable reports on coffee helping to fight Alzheimer’s due to the caffeine stimulating the cognitive area of the brain.  This is just the tip of the ice berg.

People with asthma who drink coffee can have up to 25 percent fewer symptoms because one of the compounds in coffee - theophylline - acts as a bronchodilator.
A recent Brazilian study showed that consumption of coffee promotes better sperm mobility - and now studies are in progress to determine whether caffeine can help infertile men.
Coffee contains polyphenols, substances that may reduce the risk of cancer and coronary artery disease.

The list goes on, and on…
Caffeinated coffee, as opposed to decaffeinated coffee, makes you a better thinker.  Studies have shown that coffee keeps you focused, particularly when you are doing not-so-pleasant work.  A researcher with the U.S. Army stated caffeine improved scores on a range of cognitive tasks, such as decision making, learning, and attention in the sleep-deprived.  Coffee can also boost your mood, probably by making you feel more energetic.
Although coffee is showing more favorable benefits in researcher’s eye, there are still people that although they love to drink coffee dread the indigestion, heartburn and upset stomach that regular coffee can cause, due to the high level of acid is some types of coffees.  Some coffee merchants are figuring this out and finding new ways to promote a healthy blend.  At Hotcoffeepress.com you can find a coffee blend appropriately named, “Mind Your Tummy Blend, ” that is a custom blend of the finest low acid coffee beans, perfect for those with sensitive stomachs and perfectly balanced for all.  It is worth a try at $9.75 for a full one-pound bag if you would love to bring your morning coffee back in your life.

Computers are very complicated, so computer professionals need to keep their brain synapses firing rapidly. To accomplish this, many computer professionals consume large amounts of coffee. Studies keep coming out that prove coffee is dangerous to our health. Other studies prove those findings to be false. Is coffee bad for us or not?
Does coffee raise blood pressure?
A 2002 study by John Hopkins University that tracked 1,000 former medical students found that heavy coffee drinking is associated with a small increase in blood pressure, but not enough to increase the risk for hypertension.
Does coffee cause heart attacks?
A 2000 Finnish study that surveyed more than 20,000 Finnish men and women about their coffee drinking habits and medical history found no evidence that coffee drinking is connected to heart disease.
The study did find that coffee drinkers have poorer health habits than those who drank no coffee. Those who drank coffee were more likely to smoke and have greater amounts of body fat.
Those who drank less than one cup of coffee a day were more likely have back problems, constipation, nausea, gallstones, and congestion, and deaths from heart disease were highest in those who did not drink coffee.
Does coffee cause diabetes?
A 2003 study by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health found that people who drank four to five cups per day reduced their risk of type 2 diabetes by 30 percent. And men who drink six or more cups of coffee per day lowered their risk of type 2 diabetes an additional 20 percent. (The additional protection did not appear for Women).
Does coffee harm your brain?
A 2000 study by researchers in Hawaii that surveyed 8,000 men found that those who drank three or more cups of coffee per day were five times less likely to develop Parkinson's disease. Coffee appears to provide strong protection from Parkinson's disease.
These studies prove that coffee is not bad for us, but in fact it provides many health benefits. So computer professionals can continue to consume large amounts of coffee in order to keep their brain synapses firing. I would like to expand further on the health benefits of coffee, but it's time for my coffee break.

Cold Laser Technology: How a Low Level Laser Promotes Healing

cold laser, low level laser, soft laser, laser therapy, healing laser

Article Body:
When you hear the word, "laser," what do you think of? Maybe the first thing that comes to mind is laser eye surgery, or perhaps you think about laser printers. It could be that laser-guided missiles pop into mind, or maybe you picture a laser pointer or a barcode scanner. What you might not know is that cold laser technology has produced a powerful yet benign instrument that can promote healing and wellness.

How a Cold Laser Works

A low level laser, sometimes known as a soft laser, is often used in cell regeneration. Essentially, the approach in this type of laser therapy comes from an understanding that every cell in the body has a "memory" of sorts. This memory comes from the cells' polarity. Oftentimes, this polarity prevents the body from being able to regenerate or heal itself. When a healing laser is utilized, however, the cells release their charge and, thus, their memory. Once the cells have neutral energy, the cold laser donates energy to help them rejuvenate.

Systems and Conditions that Benefit

Soft laser therapy can help with a variety of conditions. For example, many people find it useful for pain relief - either acute or chronic - as well as for injuries, weight loss, and smoking cessation. Many others use a healing laser for detoxification, and for reversing the effects of adrenaline, which is known to contribute to pain, stress, diabetes, and aging. A cold laser can also be used for nerve regeneration, organ balancing, and lymph activation. Massage therapists and other healing arts practitioners use a cold laser to align the chakras or meridians, helping their clients to reconnect their bodies, minds, and spirits.

Handheld Devices

Soft lasers are available as portable, handheld devices, and some are designed to be used by both laypeople and health professionals. However, not all cold lasers are created equally. The best have 16 laser diodes in the 650nm and 780nm spectra, as well as a digital interface that is programmable. If you're shopping for a healing laser, make sure to buy one through a company that will also provide you with a carrying case, a rechargeable AC adapter, and plug-ins for the pulsar probes. Most important of all, make sure that the company will supply you with a training DVD and manual. They should also offer support and assistance, as well as a full, money-back guarantee.

Generally speaking, lasers have a multitude of applications. Everyone from dentists to defense contractors to engravers use them. Thanks to cold laser technology, though, more people than ever before can benefit from the healing light and cellular rejuvenation that laser therapy provides.

title:Cold Sores - The Alien Herpes Virus
author:Denny Bodoh
date_saved:2007-07-25 12:30:11

Cold sores, fever blisters, oral herpes are 3 names for the same thing - a blister or sore on the face - normally occurring on the outer edge of your lip or nose.
"Cold sores" is the most common term used for these hideous, painful and contagious facial sores.  Herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2 are the root cause of cold sores.  About 80% of cold sores are caused by type 1.  Type 2, although primarily the cause of genital herpes sores, is responsible for about 20% of facial cold sores.
Cold sores are "location specific", occurring in roughly the same place each time. The herpes virus is normally latent, or asleep, in the nerve ganglia behind the jaw on the same side of your face as your cold sores occur. Fortunately herpes virus does not travel internally to infect other locations - but stays put in the area where first contracted.
Cold sores, when in full blossom, look like a hideous explosion on you lip or nose.  Fact is - that's pretty close to how cold sores are actually formed.
If you're a science fiction fan like me, you'll notice that a lot of these shows are based on the idea of alien creatures using humans to reproduce.  The alien creature "infects" the human body with their seed.  When the young are ready for birth, the human host is destroyed to release the new alien creatures.  The herpes virus replicates in the same way.
Cold sores are the result of the reproduction process of the herpes virus.  This virus, unlike bacteria, cannot reproduce on it's own but must have a host.  A single herpes virus enters a nerve cell and forces that cell to create, or clone, many copies of itself.  The original virus then destroys the host cell to release it's young.  This "explosion" of millions of cells in a close area produces the massive cold sores.
Cold sores are very painful because the herpes virus has a particular affinity for nerve cells.  Herpes virus travels the nerve fibers like a highway to the surface and create the cold sores on the end of those nerves.  If you've ever had a dentist hit the end of a nerve while drilling - well, it's pretty much the same feeling when your teeth hit the cold sores.
Cold sores are very contagious from the first tingle to the last red spot.  Even your saliva and nasal fluids (and on rare occasions even vaginal fluids) can contain the herpes virus at this time.  As a result, nearly 89% of the world population is infected with type 1 or 2 herpes virus.
Touching your cold sores or kissing can cause a new site for cold sores on yourself  -  or someone else.  Contaminated fingers can also transfer the cold sores virus to objects such as telephones, faucets, and towels.  The virus can live on these objects for days under the right conditions.  Use extreme caution, especially during the weeping and crusting phases of your cold sores.
Symptoms of cold sores begin with a tingling, dryness sensation, burning, and/or itching.  Cold sores then progress to these stages:  a group of tiny blisters form, enlarge, and burst to create one large open sore.  In 2 or 3 days a crust forms over this open, weeping sore and the healing begins.  The skin heals, the crust falls off, but there is still healing going on below the new skin - which leaves a red spot for up to 2 more weeks before cold sores are considered totally healed.
The entire event for most people averages 3 to 4 weeks - depending on their current health and on the treatments these folks used during the various stages of the cold sores.
For cold sores there is nothing currently available from medical science or natural science that will eliminate the herpes virus from the body.  If you want to be cold sore free for life - the secret you must know is keeping the virus asleep.
Without any treatment, the body will cure the cold sores through it's own natural healing process.  There are a wide variety of effective home treatment remedies that will GREATLY hurry up the healing of your cold sores - or actually prevent the outbreak from happening altogether.
Cold sores over-the-counter medications have not been shown to shorten the life cycle of cold sores.  However, these lip balms and salves do provide much comfort and help prevent secondary bacterial infection of your cold sores.

title:Cold Sore Symptoms - The Domino Effect
author:Denny Bodoh
date_saved:2007-07-25 12:30:11

Knowing your personal cold sore symptoms and being sensitive to them is an essential part of reducing the severity - or completely eliminating - cold sore symptoms from your life.
Let me explain.
Cold sore symptoms are caused by the replication process of the herpes simplex virus.  89% of people worldwide have this virus in their body, so it is quite universal.  67% of those folks will experience cold sore symptoms at least once - most often 2 or more times - in the next 12 months.
There are NO cold sore symptoms when the herpes virus is latent (sleeping) within your nerve cells. If they wake up due to some physical stress like flu, colds, or mental stress - then the cold sore symptoms start.  And it's like a "domino effect" - from one symptom to the next.
The first of the cold sore symptoms many call the itching stage.  The cold sore target area will starts to feel uncomfortable.  Itching, dryness, tingling, or burning sensations are common.  When you start feeling these cold sore symptoms - beware!  You are only a day or two away from more severe cold sore symptoms.
The itching stage, without a doubt, is the most important of all cold sore symptoms.  Treating this phase of your cold sore symptoms immediately and correctly is the secret to being cold sore free for life.
To prevent further cold sore symptoms, or at least reduce their impact, try applying ice.  Herpes virus hates cold.  Applying ice during this phase sends the virus back to the latent stage for many people.
I prefer ice because it's readily available almost anywhere you are, it works very well and is basically free.  Any cold object, like a can of soda, will help.  The important thing is - the quicker you do this, the less likely you will have to suffer further cold sore symptoms.  If  nothing else, your cold sore symptoms will be a lot less severe.
Pain relievers and fever reducers like aspirin are often used with much success during most of the symptoms.  Some over-the-counter treatments contain numbing agents will help also.
If you miss treating this symptom, then the other cold sore symptoms start dropping like dominos - fast and furious.
The next of the cold sore symptoms is the inflammation phase.  Hard red bumps appear and some pain is apparent.  Swelling of the cold sore area develops.  You may notice swelling of the lymph glands under the jaw, tiredness, headaches, possibly a slight fever - basically flu or cold like symptoms.
The red bumps burst and merge causing an open, weeping sore.  This is a quite painful time.  Your nose may run, headaches are common.  The fluid is teaming with new viruses and this is by far the most contagious period.
Use caution.  A secondary bacterial infection here could greatly extend and complicate your cold sore symptoms.
Within a couple days a yellowish crust forms over the sore.  Still very painful to the touch.  Also, the crust often cracks, as when you smile, and that's a major cause of pain in this phase of cold sore symptoms.
You still may have headaches and feel feverish.  Swollen lymph glands start to reduce.  The skin is healing under the crust so there will be itching and general discomfort yet during this phase of your cold sore symptoms.
Within a few days, maybe a week, the scab falls off.   New skin covers the wound.  Healing is still taking place under the new skin, producing a red spot for most people.  This redness can last from 1-3 weeks.  Itching and irritation is still a problem.
Your lymph glands should be greatly reduced by now, but still noticeable.  The feverish feeling and headaches should be about gone.
One final note on cold sore symptoms.
During the red spot period, the cold sore symptoms could start all over again quite easily - not unlike getting a head cold back right away.
The key to reducing or eliminating cold sore events in your life is early detection and active treatment of your cold sore symptoms.

title:Cold Sore Treatment - Lemon Balm Ice
author:Denny Bodoh
date_saved:2007-07-25 12:30:11

A good cold sore treatment can really be a blessed relief for cold sore victims like you and me.
And, if you're like me, you want a cold sore treatment that will not only give you a lot of comfort right now, but will hopefully shorten the healing time so you can get on with your life.  That's the beauty of this well proven cold sore treatment.
I'm always searching for a better cold sore treatment.  I have many good friends at Mayo who I've partnered with for research purposes over the past 33 years.  But it's important to keep in mind that the following cold sore treatment methods are not presented as medical advice - only as information for your consideration.  There is no substitute for a one-on-one relationship with a medical professional.
By far, the most popular cold sore treatment is the application of ice.  It slows down metabolism, numbs the area, discourages the virus from replicating, and is readily available.  Apply ice for 10 minutes at a time to your cold sores, maybe 3 times an hour, as a very basic cold sore treatment.
With this cold sore treatment, if I could catch the cold sores at the first tingle and apply the ice, it delayed - and sometimes prevented - the cold sores from actually moving into the blister stage.  If a blister does form, this cold sore treatment still works great for providing blessed comfort.  Because it does slow down metabolism, it also will slow down the healing of your cold sores.  Best not to use it as much during the healing phase of your cold sores as a cold sore treatment.
A fishing buddy of mine - a Mayo doctor - while on an outing on the Mississippi, revealed his secret cold sore treatment.
His cold sore treatment involves the use of lemon balm tea.
These tea bags can be found for cheap anywhere you find specialty teas.  If the lemon balm is not "stand alone" but in a blend with other herbs, that will usually be just fine too - as long as lemon balm is the primary.
Dr. W. explained that he discovered lemon balm herb has anti-viral properties and is a natural cold sore treatment.  He took a 16 - 20 ounce container of bottled water. He then brewed a strong batch of lemon balm tea using one tea bag per 4 ounces - then froze the tea bags - using these in place of the plain ice cold sore treatment.
You get the comforting effect of ice plus, as the tea-bag melts, the application of the anti-viral properties of lemon balm.  He stored the tea back in the original bottles for convenience and further cold sore treatment.
Additionally, Dr. W. - to supercharge this cold sore treatment - would sip the lemon balm tea and apply the tea liquid to the cold sores with a cotton ball between lemon balm ice sessions.
If you're the rare person who gets cold sores inside the mouth, you'll find they are very difficult to deal with.  This may be exactly the cold sore treatment for you.  Use the lemon balm tea as a mouthwash, then swallow for an additional boost.  Listerine has worked well as a cold sore treatment, both in the mouth and applied externally, but it stings like crazy.
I also found that freezing the tea and sucking on the lemon balm ice chips is very effective and comforting as an in-the-mouth cold sore treatment.
I tried his cold sore treatment and it worked great for my family too, back when we used to get cold sores frequently.  Quite a vast improvement on the old ice method.
This cold sore treatment, using lemon balm frozen tea bags, is a much better choice than plain ice during the healing stages of your cold sores.  Although you are slowing metabolism, you are also killing many viruses with this cold sore treatment.
There are many other reported highly effective cold sore treatment methods that you can try.  These include tea tree oil, dmso, olive leaf oil, lysine, zinc, yogurt, aloe vera and more.  Lysine and zinc do not work well applied directly because the size of their molecules are too large for effective absorption.   Lysine and zinc are better used as internal support supplements.
We have tested every over-the-counter cold sore treatment - at least all  that we could find.  We found they are great for comfort but none of them did anything to actually kill the virus or speed healing.
Keep in mind that the best and most effective cold sore treatment will be topical - directly applied - for any open surface lesion like a cold sore.
I hope you, too, will find this to be an excellent, cheap, and useful cold sore treatment.

title:Collagen Injections on the Forefront of Cosmetic Plastic Surgery
author:Harry John
date_saved:2007-07-25 12:30:11

Cosmetic plastic surgery boosts your confidence the way you look. And increase in self-confidence in the look can encourage you to focus your energy on other areas like family and career. There may me certain flaws in your body and face that makeup, diet and exercise can’t help mask. There you should look into the ultimate in makeover, i.e., cosmetic plastic surgery.
The advancement of corrective body and facial surgeries has made the cosmetic procedures easy, affordable and less invasive. This has led many to go for pure cosmetic procedures where aesthetic value comes first.
But, cosmetic procedures are not totally different from reconstructive procedures. Cosmetic surgery also considers your general health conditions and particular physical traits. That’s why you should not plunge into a procedure just for look alteration.
Of many cosmetic procedures collagen injection is a popular procedure embraced by many women to achieve that fuller and perfect lip, and to remove the facial wrinkles.
Collagen injections are all-purpose fillers to fix problems on the face. Collagen is filled into the areas that need plumping-up. For removal of wrinkles, scars, and different marks these are the most suitable stuffs. Collagen can add volume to face giving it smooth appearance.
We all have collagen, a kind of protein, between the skin and the underlying tissues. This collagen helps to build fascia, the network of fibers that gives skin its bounce, volume and softness. That’s why collagen injections are popular in celeb circles and administered as: collagen lip injection, facial collagen injections, buttock collagen injections and scar collagen injections.
Why do we need collagen injections?
Well, we have the collagen in our tissues. But its amount over ages goes on decrease after youth and the skin loses elasticity. Collagen injection helps replenish this condition The idea behind injecting collagen is to replenish this underlying skin structure so that it regains its ability to bounce back. Collagen replacement therapy helps smooth facial lines as well as reduces the look of most types of scars. Taking a collagen injection is as easy as taking any other injection.
Rarely, it does involve some complications like bruising, redness and puffiness of skin. In severe cases, the collagen migrates to other parts of the body. But the complications can be avoided with proper consultation with a surgeon by doing collagen acceptance/rejection test in one’s body.
What are different types of collagen?
· Bovine collagen: Derived from the tissues of cow, the bovine collagen is very compatible with human skin. It has fewer cases of allergy and rejection. Zyderm is the most popular names in bovine collagen.
· Human collagen: It comes from a human donor. Human skin readily accepts this.  Zyderm and Zyplast and the two most popular human collagen.

Colloidal Silver, nano-sized silver particles that have been used to manufacture everyday products by the industrial giants to kill germs, giving us a healthier environment. Check out the leaders of the industry…

The “powers” of colloidal silver have been heralded for thousands of years only to be quieted by penicillin and other bacteria killers conjured up in the pharmaceutical labs, given Latin names and used to fight every bacterium originated disease known to man.

The results of shunning this natural “nano-sized” (nano = one billionth of a meter) antibiotic has been that diseases have evolved to have a resistance to the man made antibiotics and now scientist are scrambling to find replacements for the antibiotics that have survived less than 100 years.

There are critics that hypothesize that the large pharmaceutical companies are pressuring the regulatory agencies to prevent nano-sized silver products from being sold directly to the public without the giants taking their cut. Websites have sold silver nanoparticles in solution known as colloidal silver without the ability to mention what the product will cure or testimonials from those that have had positive results.

Wall Street Journal announces that the “War Against Germs Has Silver Lining”.

Curad USA, makers of hospital bandages lined with nano-silver particles now has released Curad Silver Bandages for the home use instead of a Band-aid. Curad claims “that silver reduced bacterial growth like Staph. aureaus, E. coli, E. hirae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa”.

Samsung Electronics has introduced a refrigerator and new laundry washing machine that uses silver ions to sanitize the laundry and eliminate 99% of odor causing bacteria (sold at Lowe’s and Best Buy). Plank, a Boston company, has launched a new soap for Yoga users that lists silver as the main active ingredient. The company has a toothpaste and shampoo in R&D that is imbued with silver.

Asia has become the largest consumer of products that uses the nano-silver as a antimicrobial ingredient. Colloidal silver is known to kill virus, is it possible they are guarding against bird flu?

While some agencies strive to prevent you from buying colloidal silver online, the EPA is clear that we NOW have silver in our drinking supply and has, for health purposes established a daily reference dose for silver in drinking water at 350 micrograms (u.g) and a critical dose at 1400 u.g. In contrast, international health bodies, such as the World Health Organization, have not established such standards for silver since its toxicity is very low.

Silver “becomes more active against microbes when it’s made into small particles because they can cover more surface area when they come into direct contact with bacteria,” according to Andrew Maynard, physicist and chief scientific adviser for studies on Emerging Nanotechnologies underway at Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington.

Adidas, and Polartec have licensed silver coated nylon fabric known as X-Static (Noble Biomaterials Inc.) to incorporate antimicrobial silver in athletic and outdoor clothing for their ability to kill odors and promote thermal properties. Brooks Sports sells a line (HVAC) of socks, caps and shirts that use silver to differentiate them from all others.

ARC Outdoors uses silver infused fabric from NanHorizon Inc. to produce antimicrobial socks for the U.S. military. SmartSilver is brand of odor-eliminating underwear, stocking caps and gloves that kills bacteria on contact using nano-silver. ARC sells to Wal-Mart, Bass ProShops, Cabela’s and wants to expand to hospital products such as sheets and surgical scrubs.

Sharper Image has introduced a plastic food storage container that is infused with nano-silver particles that they claim will keep food fresher, longer.

So what diseases will colloidal silver display benefits for? Bacteria and virus are known to be killed by silver suspended in a liquid of nanoparticle size called colloidal silver. In addition to the bacterial growths like Staph. aureaus, E. coli, E. hirae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa mentioned by Curad and Maynard, yeast, fungus and virus have all died in tests using colloidal silver. So is yeast infection a yeast? Yes. Is ringworm a fungus? Yes. Is acne caused by bacteria? Yes. Is sinusitis caused by a bacteria infection? Yes. Is silver used in infants eyes? Yes. Is silver used for burn victims? Yes. Is colloidal silver an immune system support? Yes. Will colloidal silver be the answer for bird flu? Is bird flu a virus?

Viva Colloidal Silver!

title:Colloidal Silver Immune Support - Snake Oil Or Supplement
author:James Zeller
date_saved:2007-07-25 12:30:12

Finally the veil has been lifted from the cloaked Colloidal Silver story. The confusion is removed from the arena of use. Will this early 20th century patented drug, turned over the counter supplement, cure what ails you or is it just so much hype that will take your money?
Colloidal silver has exploded on the web as a supplement, heralded as a cure all, and cursed by some officials that seem to be motivated by the large pharmaceuticals.
Colloidal silver was used as a natural antibiotic prior to the discovery of penicillin. The new antibacterial agent was the drug of favor worldwide. Colloidal silver was shoved to the back of medical consciousness and found little use after 1929. But wait, the medical world did not stop using silver. The overwhelming healing qualities of silver are continued even now in the world’s burn centers and millions of babies have had a silver concentrate flushed into their eyes immediately after birth.
So if this natural antibiotic was once used so widely, why did the physicians stop using it? Did bacteria develop a resistance to colloidal silver? Did it stop working? The answer seems to be a pharmaceutical decision. No resistance was developed to colloidal silver by bacteria and the benefits are as good today as they were prior to 1929.
A few wise doctors continued to use colloidal silver and some wise patients remembered this silver concoction and readily continued its use as it became an over the counter “supplement”. The immune system fights all intrusive germs, bacteria and disease to prevent the body from falling victim to disease.
Like any substance that is taken in excess the body treats overdoses of a substance as a toxin and rejects the immune system overload. Wheat eaten in excess is poisonous to the body. We recognize that excess grain in horses will cause them to founder and in some cases die. The effect would be similar in humans. Colloidal silver when ingested in the amounts recommended as a supplement has clinically shown to be an immune system support guarding against viral infections and bacterial infections.
Some manufacturers of colloidal silver used to make a solution of silver chloride. This is not desirable as it will cause the silver to accumulate under the skin giving a light blue hue to the skin. There are no known side effects in taking colloidal silver that is properly made and consumed. There are no recorded deaths from taking this immune system support boosting supplement, but plenty of government pressure trying to halt the sale for no other apparent reason than to appease the heavy lobbying pharmaceutical companies that seem to now want to prescribe this remedy again.
Colloidal silver has been sold as a dietary supplement for the immune system in every major health food chain in the country for over 25 years. The concentration of 1100 ppm used to be the “standard” available in 4 once bottles. It can be made up to 5 ppm in the home with a 9 volt battery, two silver leads in a glass of distilled water.
Testimonials have filled hundreds of web pages of how colloidal silver has been beneficial. These unsolicited accounts testify of a natural antibiotic that has powers beyond just being an immune system support “supplement”.

Colloidal Silver is a solution containing microscopic particles of pure silver permanently suspended in de-ionized water. The solution inhibits the ability of disease-causing organisms such as bacteria, virus, fungus and parasites from assimilating oxygen. As a consequence, the disease-causing organisms literally suffocate and die.
Pure silver has been used for hundreds of years in the prevention and treatment of illness from injury or toxic substance. During the Middle Ages silver goblets were used as drinking vessels in the belief that they prevented poisoning from bad wine or contaminated water or other liquid.
Pure Silver has been used as a liner in water canteens since the 100's. The water held in these canteens stays sweet and clean until consumed.
No research has shown that any known disease-causing organism can live in the presence of even minute traces of the chemical element of metallic silver.

title:Colloidal Silver - Time For a Comeback?

I'm sure you know what it's like to be sick.  Stuffy head, running nose, sore throat, coughing, fever, and maybe even vomiting.  It really sucks.  And with the overuse of prescription antibiotics, you can't be sure if they will even help next time around.
So it's time now to test out some alternative medicine that was actually used commonly before 1938.  This product is colloidal silver, which is simply silver particles suspended in purified water.  Silver was pretty popular back in the early 1900's, but it was fairly expensive to make.  It slowly faded into the background once more "financially lucrative" drugs came out.
Here's a little info from a couple decades ago:
The March 1978 issue of Science Digest, in the article, "Our Mightiest Germ Fighter," reported: "Thanks to eye-opening research, silver is emerging as a wonder of modern medicine.  An antibiotic kills perhaps a half-dozen different disease organisms, but silver kills some 650.  Resistant strains fail to develop.  Moreover, silver is virtually non-toxic."
From what I've heard, it sounds like the silver binds to an enzyme in these single-cell organisms, and then the organism can no longer use oxygen, so it dies.  You get the picture.
The cool thing is, while the silver destroys these pathogens, it does not harm the cells in the surrounding body tissues.  It's safe for humans, animals, and plants!  And you do not develop a resistance to it like with other antibiotics.
Feel free to use it for nasal drops or put it directly on cuts or burns.  It's even supposed to fight athlete's foot!
I started using it last year (2003) and have had pretty good luck.  Even though I'm in college and live in a dormitory, I haven't been sick for more than a few days and never was I sick enough to have to stay in bed more than usual.  Whenever my mom first told me to take it, I said it was worthless, but I have since changed my mind.
If you want to try it out, I suggest you buy it from LifeForce International.  Some other sources are quite inferior.
If you're feeling sick, the sooner you try it the better!

Just by increasing the amount of fiber you eat daily by 3 / 4 ounce, you can dramatically change your risk of getting colon cancer and many other colon diseases.  Add 3 / 4 ounce of fiber to your daily diet and avoid the misery and devastation that colon cancer brings to you and your family. Most people with underlying hereditary predispositions to colon cancer can’t effectively prevent the occurrence of the disease, healthy people can avoid colon cancer by following a proper diet and by making lifestyle improvements.

According to the factors that lead to the development of colon cancer, there are two main types of the disease: hereditary colon cancer, which occurs due to genetically inherited physiological abnormalities of the large bowel; and acquired (sporadic) colon cancer, which occurs due to inappropriate diet and unhealthy lifestyle.  Most cases of colon cancer occur due to formation of polyps in different regions of the large bowel (colon).  People who have a family history of colon cancer should pay regular visits to an oncologist, as it is very important to timely reveal the signs of large bowel disease in order to maximize the chances of recovery.

Immediately following diagnosis, a colon cancer patient may want to visit their local library or research the internet for educational resources, of which there are plenty available. After it has spread, colon cancer starts to cause symptoms that can't be overlooked, like blood in the stool, change in bowel habits, fatigue, vomiting, stomach aches, so in this phase it's easy to discover and diagnose it, after some clinical tests and trials.

Recurrent colon cancer is the return of cancerous cells that have already been treated.  Treatment of Stage 1 colon cancer is usually resection/anastomosis (removal of colon cancer by joining the cut ends of the colon) because the cancerous tissue is usually too large at this stage to be removed by local excision.
